Is traditional therapy just not cutting it anymore?
You’ve done the work. You’ve learned the skills. But something is still holding you back.
You don’t have the time to devote to weekly therapy sessions
Some people may have difficulty committing to regular weekly sessions due to busy schedules or other constraints. Intensives offer an alternative for those seeking a more concentrated approach.
You’re seeking deeper, more concentrated healing
Intensives allow you to dive deeply into the therapeutic process over a short period, expediting progress compared to the slower pace of traditional weekly sessions.
You’re in the right place.
EMDR intensives can help you accomplish in one session what may take months in traditional therapy.
What is a Therapy intensive?
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapy intensives refer to a concentrated and extended format of EMDR therapy sessions. EMDR is a therapeutic approach designed to help individuals process and overcome traumatic experiences. In traditional EMDR therapy, sessions are typically spread out over several weeks or months.
In contrast, EMDR therapy intensives involve longer and more frequent sessions condensed into a shorter time frame, often over a weekend or several consecutive days. The goal is to provide a more immersive and focused experience to address significant issues or trauma in a shorter period.

Intensive sessions are really great for single incident traumas (car accident, single assault incident, natural disaster, phobias, etc.
If you are experiencing complex trauma, or multiple traumas, intensive sessions can be very beneficial as well, the treatment planning just looks a little different.

Sometimes, when we experience distressing events, the nature of those experiences can overwhelm the brains ability to heal naturally. When this happens, the unprocessed experience is often linked to upsetting images, thoughts and emotions. EMDR helps the brain process these memories, so normal healing may resume; the experiences are integrated in a more adaptive way. When the processing is complete and the event is stored again with adaptive information, you are feeling and thinking better.
